No Actual pictures of the Day, but as said yesterday I am using the pictures of the Royal Visit to the Cecil John Rhodes (who died in 1902) Burial Memorial that happened on the 15th April.
The first one made the newspapers as Princess Elizabeth went to the Memorial in stocking feet as she lent her saddle shoes to the Queen after the rugged walk up had torn her shoes to pieces.
HMS Vanguard
There was an official lunch on board for the The Minister of Public Posts, Telegraphs and Public Works and 8 of his staff. In the afternoon there was a party on board for over 700 children who were entertained by the officer's and crew.
The ship commenced loading 15 million pounds worth of Gold Bullion .
